My Work
I come to directing from the raw place of being a human being. I believe theatre should be an experience that allows the audience to breathe with the characters onstage, holding their breath or exhaling in relief every time they do. It’s my goal to create a nonjudgmental, accessible space for everyone involved in the artistic process, including the audience.
The text of what I am working with is my compass to the final product. I want to stay connected to the playwrights original intention and maintain the integrity of the work. I want to create something that not only makes people think, but makes people feel.

Assistant Director
As an Irish-American and theatre artist, I am passionate about Irish culture and bringing it to the forefront of the Chicago Theatre scene to share my culture’s stories and perspectives.
Choreographer
I’ve choreographed for a wide range of ages and abilities, but this was the widest range yet with ages 2 to 90. There’s so much color and life in the land of Oz, and the choreography should
match that energy. Whether it’s Dorothy’s dreams or the munchkin’s excitement, dancing is an essential part of this story. My choreography strived to breathe new
life into an old story.

Assistant Director
Being able to take a work like Romeo and Juliet, one of the most well-known classics, and working it in a different and modern way changed my perspective of the reception of Shakespeare in our world today.

Fight Director
The American Dream examines the price of freedom. Guatemalan immigrant Corina (Kairis Rivera) has made her way across the border guided by Efren (Jorge Aguilar), a human smuggler, aka coyote. Efren imprisons her while awaiting the final payment from her husband. Lies and truth get tangled as each desperately battles for their own definitions of freedom.

Boys: A New Play
“Boys,” inspired very loosely by Lord of the Flies, explores the toxicity of male privilege, it’s lingering presence in many facets of society, and the generational effect of mentalities like “boys will be boys.” What happens when drinks at the bar evolve into something darker? And why do we, the human race, keep allowing our children to make our same mistakes—to be just like us?
This play hopes to reveal the ways in which “innocent locker room talk” begets tragedy and how certain men paint themselves as heroes of the stories in which they are objectively the villain.
